We’ve introduced Onro Agents, a suite of specialized AI agents built directly into your delivery operations. These aren’t just chatbots; they are connected to your live operational data, capable of making decisions and taking action in real time.
A Dedicated AI Agent for Every Role
Courier and delivery companies generate a large amount of operational data, orders, routes, delivery ETAs, exceptions, but most of it doesn’t get used in real time. Decisions are made by people looking at dashboards that are always slightly behind what’s actually happening.
Onro’s direction is to change this by building Onro Agents, a suite of AI agents, each connected to the full operational data of your business, each scoped to a specific role. Rather than a single generic AI assistant, each agent understands the context of one entity; what they need to know, what decisions they make, and what communication they handle, and acts on that with intelligence.
Recipient Agent
The Onro Recipient Agent is the first of these agents. The planned roadmap covers the remaining roles in a delivery operation:
Dispatcher Agent
Helps dispatchers manage daily operations, handle exceptions, prioritize orders, and surface the information they need. Without manually querying reports or switching between screens.
Customer Agent
Handles communication with the businesses and individuals placing orders. Order status, issue reporting, invoice questions, and reorder flows, automated and available at any hour.
Driver Agent
Supports drivers in the field with real-time guidance, exception handling, and communication, reducing the need to contact dispatch for routine situations.
Each agent is connected to the same underlying Onro data. They don’t work in isolation, they share context, so decisions made by one agent inform the others. A driver agent that flags a delivery issue can surface it to the dispatcher agent automatically. A sender agent that confirms a pickup feeds that confirmation into the dispatch flow.
The result is a delivery operation where intelligence is embedded at every point of contact — not bolted on as a feature, but built into how the platform works.
Onro Recipient Agent
The Onro Recipient Agent is the first of these agents. It communicates with delivery recipients on your behalf, from the moment an order is created until it’s delivered. It runs automatically, connects to your messaging channels (WhatsApp, email, and others), and keeps your recipients informed and take action according to the conversation.
Recipient Experience Without an App
The majority of recipients in last-mile delivery are not registered users. They placed an order through a merchant, a business, or someone else entirely, and they have no account with your courier company. That means no tracking page, no notification preferences, and no way to communicate.
The Onro Recipient Agent fills this gap. It gives every recipient a real-time, two-way communication channel through messaging apps they already use. They can confirm their location, re-schedule, add delivery notes, ask questions, and receive updates, without downloading anything or creating an account.
From the recipient’s perspective, they’re simply chatting with your company personnel. From your perspective, it’s fully automated and smart!
The Problems It Addresses
- Inaccurate drop-off locations: Recipients often provide approximate addresses at checkout. Drivers waste time locating them, and deliveries fail as a result.
- No communication channel for unregistered recipients: Most recipients never download your app or create an account. Without a portal, they have no way to share delivery instructions, ask about their order, or update their location.
- Manual dispatcher workload: Dispatchers spend time calling and messaging recipients to confirm details before dispatch. This scales poorly.
- Missing delivery context: Unit numbers, floor details, gate codes, and “leave with the neighbor” instructions rarely make it to the driver. The recipient has no simple way to send them.
- Failed deliveries from unavailability: Drivers arrive and no one is home. The order gets rescheduled, costs go up, and the recipient is frustrated.
- COD recipients unprepared for payment: Cash on delivery orders often fail not because of address issues, but because the recipient doesn’t have cash ready at the door. Today this means a failed attempt, a call to dispatch, and a manual reschedule.
- Language barriers: In multi-region operations, recipients communicate in different languages. Responding manually to each language is not feasible at scale.
What the Onro Recipient AI Agent Does
The Onro Recipient Agent bridges the gap between your operations and the receivers by managing the entire communication lifecycle. By connecting directly to your live operational data and messaging channels like WhatsApp, it handles the coordination that usually requires a manual dispatcher or support team.
Key ONRO Recipient AI Agent Capabilities
- COD rescheduling: When a recipient can’t complete a cash on delivery payment, they can request a new delivery date directly through the conversation. With the Onro Recipient Agent, the recipient can request a reschedule directly in the conversation the agent handles it and updates the order in the system automatically.
- Drop-off location confirmation: The agent collects a precise location pin from the recipient and updates the order coordinates in Onro automatically.
- Order confirmation before dispatch: The agent checks recipient availability before the driver is assigned, reducing failed first-attempt deliveries.
- Tracking and ETA sharing: Recipients can ask about their order status and receive a tracking link or estimated arrival time directly in the conversation.
- Driver notes: Recipients can add delivery instructions at any point. The agent writes them to the order immediately.
- Multi-language support: Language is detected from the recipient’s messages or order data. The agent responds in the same language without any manual configuration.
- Model flexibility: The agent is not tied to a specific AI model. It can run on Google Gemini, Claude, GPT, or other. Based on your preference or regional requirements.
Coming Soon: Voice Integration
We are extending the Recipient Agent’s logic to Voice. Soon, your Agent will be able to handle automated confirmation and rescheduling calls, providing the same intelligent experience for customers who prefer to talk rather than text.
Availibility
The Onro Recipient Agent is available to courier and delivery companies running on Onro. It is currently deployed with a selection of strategic clients across multiple regions and is not yet open to all Onro workspaces.
